F-51 Industrial Felt
Description
SAE F-51 has the same specs as F-3 but denotes a thickness of 3/32” or less. This felt is recommended for uses where surface integrity is needed. It is also great for low viscosity oil absorption/lubrication and retention. It is a felt that can be made up of coarse wool. On a firmness scale of 1 to 10, the F-51 rates a 9.
- Min. Wool Content of 92%
- Roll width of 60” and 72”
- Tensile strength 400 psi
Roll lengths range from approx. 40 to 50 yards depending on material thickness.
Partial rolls refer to material cut from a master roll in yard increments. Minimum order quantities apply to partial rolls.

Color Disclaimer
Color and blemish variation will occur. We cannot guarantee consistency between lot to lot.
Color variation: Sheep hair occurs in a spectrum of beige and gray tones, making consistent coloration between rolls difficult to achieve without the use of dyes.
Blemishes: Industrial felt is manufactured using wool from sheep. The fibers undergo washing and, in certain cases, carbonization. Wool that has been carbonized yields a cleaner, more uniform blend, while uncarbonized fibers may retain trace amounts of burrs, seeds, or other inclusions inherent to raw fleece.
NOTE: Colors which appear online or in print may differ slightly from actual felt. If color accuracy is critical to your application, please request a physical sample before ordering.
Application
Common industrial uses include washers, bushings, wicks, door bumpers, polishing blocks, spacers and parts where abrasion resistance is needed.
