Custom Felts for Yurta

Featured in Bloomberg TV’s show “World’s Greatest” is our customer Yurta!

Yurta is a Canadian company pioneering the yurt industry. They use our custom blended needle punch felt with a reflective backing. This keeps the interiors warm in the winter, and cool in the summer.

Polishing Wheels for Glass

In the windows and glass industry, polishing wheels are used on glass bevels and are regularly exposed to cerium oxide and water. Because the bevel is grounded down and then polished multiple times, the wheels must maintain their shape. If a wheel swells in water, it can lead to inconsistent polishing and even increase the risk of the glass breaking due to changes in pressure.

Brand Felt Group has developed a polishing wheel made from 100% wool felt that maintains its density and resists swelling in water, ensuring consistent, reliable results every time.

Hammerhead Felt

Piano hammer felt plays a crucial role in shaping a piano’s tone, attack, depth, and overall character. For decades, the piano industry wondered why early 20th-century pianos sounded noticeably richer. Part of the answer lay in a legendary pre-war Weickert Felt “recipe” that was lost during World War II, altering the tonal profile of pianos made in the decades that followed.

In the 1990s, Jack Brand, owner of Brand Felt Group, was challenged by piano makers and hammerhead technicians to recreate this felt. Through collaborations with Renner Hammerhead and Steingraeber & Söhne, the team re-introduced the Weickert Felt quality to the piano industry. Today, thousands of pianos each year are outfitted with felt produced from this recovered process—once again considered the gold standard of hammerhead felt.

Cork + Cling Foam Pads

In the windows and glass industry, a significant amount of glass breakage happens during transportation and storage. If not handled properly, stacked glass can crack under its own weight, and any sudden movement increases the risk of shattering. A common workaround has been to tape padding directly onto the glass, but this often leaves adhesive marks and stains.

Cork cling foam pads offer a cleaner, more effective solution. Made by our brand Combi-Fab, these specialty pads are produced by laminating fine-grain cork to cling foam - a closed-cell PVC foam. The cork layer provides a smooth, durable surface with insulation and pressure resistance, while the cling foam allows the pad to temporarily adhere to glass, steel, and some plastics without the use of adhesive.
