BISCO® HT-800 Foam is Built for Outdoor Lighting

Exciting news! Brand Felt Group is now an official Major Converter for Rogers Corporation. This gives our customers direct access to the full BISCO® cellular silicone line. We convert it in-house to your specs.

What Are Cellular Silicones?

Cellular silicones are silicone foams with a uniform cell structure. They compress under load and recover when released. They resist compression sets, even at high temperatures. This lets them hold a seal for a long time.

They also conform well to uneven surfaces. Rogers' BISCO® line covers a wide range of compression force. Grades run from ultra-soft BF-2000 to extra-firm HT-840. All BISCO® cellular silicones are rated UL94 V-0 and HF1 for flame resistance.

What is BISCO HT-800 Foam?

HT-800 is Rogers' medium-firm cellular silicone. It has excellent memory and low stress relaxation. It springs back after compression and holds its seal over time.

Key properties:

  • Typical density of 22 PCF.
  • Compression force deflection (CFD) of 6–14 PSI.
  • Compact cell structure that blocks fine particles and wind-driven rain.
  • Available in black and gray.

Built for Lighting

HT-800 is a strong fit for outdoor lighting and electronics enclosures. Here is why:

  • Flame retardant: It adds a layer of fire safety inside the fixture.
  • Electrically insulating: It keeps current where it belongs.
  • Very low thermal conductivity: It limits heat transfer between parts.
  • UV resistant: It stands up to years of direct sun.
  • Tested: It passes the standard ASTM test battery required by the lighting industry.

Outdoor fixtures are often designed and tested for a 20-year service life. The gasket should last just as long. Neoprene dries out in the sun. Over time it cracks and leaks. HT-800 holds its properties for the life of the fixture.

What The HT-800 Does in a Lighting Fixture?

  • Seals: It acts as a gasket around the electronics compartment. Water stays out.
  • Spaces: It sits between metal parts. This stops friction and rattling.
  • Shields: It protects components from the heat of the light itself.

Converted to Your Spec

We supply HT-800 as full rolls, stripping, and die-cut parts. Thicknesses run from 1/32" to 1/2". It is available plain or with adhesive backing. See HT-800 product details and the technical datasheet.

Need a Different Firmness?

HT-800 is one of several densities in the BISCO® line. Softer and firmer grades are also available. Browse the full BISCO® range, or contact our team to find the right fit.
